Hanna Campus

K-6th grade

Overview

Our picturesque elementary campus is approximately 27 acres of woodland trails, outdoor classrooms and an award winning organic garden. This campus also has the first green platinum rated classrooms in the nation awarded by the USGBC to a public school. Our teachers embrace this natural setting as part of their teaching model utilizing the campus throughout the school day.

Elementary School Events

5th Grade House Sorting

At the end of 5th grade, students are sorted into one of our five middle school Houses—tight-knit homerooms that become their home base for the next three years. Each house represents a core value: Stewardship, Unity, Curiosity, Courage, or Persistence. These Houses serve as homerooms for the next three years, guiding students through character education, social-emotional learning, and the development of strong peer connections.

World Heritage Parade

Our campus comes alive with color, culture, and pride as students celebrate their roots in the annual World Heritage Parade. Dressed in traditional clothing and carrying flags, students honor their family heritage and learn to appreciate the rich diversity that strengthens our community.

Night Hike

A favorite Learning Gate tradition, our night hikes invite families to explore the wonders of nature after dark. Guided by flashlights and curiosity, students experience the sights and sounds of the natural world in a whole new way, deepening their connection to the environment and to each other.

Holiday House

Holiday House is a Learning Gate tradition. We transform an outdoor and indoor space to create a candy land themed, fun shopping experience for our students. They are so excited to pick out the perfect gifts all by themselves for the loved ones on their list. Families pre-purchase the quantity they want, and classes go shopping during their assigned times during the school day. This event fosters independence and the joy of giving.

Dr. Seuss Week Character Parade

Our celebration of reading kicks off with Dr. Seuss Week—filled with themed days and literacy activities—and culminates in the beloved Character Parade. Students dress as their favorite book characters and march through campus, bringing stories to life and building a joyful, lasting love of reading.

Forest Biome

During the Forest Biome Celebration, students showcase what they’ve learned about woodland ecosystems through vibrant artwork, research projects, and engaging performances. Families explore displays, watch student-led skits, and experience hands-on demonstrations—all rooted in our belief that Nature is Our Best Teacher. This event highlights students’ creativity, collaboration, and environmental knowledge in a truly immersive way.

Ocean Biome

Dive into discovery at the Ocean Biome Celebration, where students explore the mysteries of marine life and coastal ecosystems. Through songs, theatrical performances, interactive exhibits, and student-created artwork, families are invited to experience a deep dive into ocean science. This hands-on, joyful day reflects our commitment to environmental education and allows students to express their learning with imagination, purpose, and pride
